WTF is No Clients Allowed?

No Clients Allowed (NCA) is a think tank comprised of two mediocre graphic designers in Columbus, Ohio. We both have 9-5 jobs working as in-house designers on a marketing team. Though we work at different companies, I would describe our work as being very... corporate. Meaning that in many ways, the projects we work on don’t allow us to express a lot of creativity.

If we’re being honest that’s not what we had in mind when we first decided to pursue careers in design. When we started our careers roughly 10 years ago, we had a much more rosy picture in our minds that we could be these big shot designers living in city lofts working on Fortune 500 logos and making band posters all day.

Long story short—like many people—we’ve had some time to think and reevaluate our career paths while we’ve been stuck in quarantine. We decided that we need to pull the trigger and work together on a collaboration that we’ve been trying to do for many years. We both have interesting ideas and we’ve essentially come up with a plan that will allow us to not only pursue these ideas and personal projects, but will serve as a creative outlet that we each desperately need.

We’ve formed NCA. It’s what we call our, pseudo company that we work at outside of our 9-5 jobs where we get to work on the projects that we want to work on. For ourselves. And we have one rule… no client work allowed.

This is a work in progress and we have a lot of cool stuff in the pipeline. So be sure to follow us on Instagram @noclientsallowed to see our process as we figure this shit out!
